intake install question

i want to install the injen CAI but my car is brand new!!!! how long or how many miles should i wait to install the intake because of the necessary "breakin" time

You run the danger of reving the engine rpms too high with
a CAI install when new. The Injen, along with all the others,
comes to "life" above 3500 - 4000 rpm. If you want to keep
the rpms under a certain limit, the CAI is not gonna help you!

I put mine on after 300 miles. Don't listen to ANY manufacturer about their break-in periods. The most important part of break in occurs in the first 10-20 miles and you usually receive the car with about that. Just ride it nice for the first couple hundrend and you'll be fine. I believe in motoman's engine break in theory. Read this!!! http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

I have to agree with Jeremy. OWT about break in. At least with today's manufacturing technologies. Most important aspect of liquid cooled engines is to service them regularly and don't rev them until they're up to optimal operating temps.
