Just go on Youtube and search G35 and Testpipes.
I have testpipes and i like them, but some people dont cause you get the rasp sound and the smell. So either go with resonated test pipes to reduce the rasp or HFC. But in my opinion i only hear the rasp at WOT.

Just search it up. There were a good handful of sound clips with the stock exhaust & test pipes.

That combination, even with resonated test pipes, will rasp alot.

Probably just the design & flow characteristics of the stock exhaust.

because OEM muffler is designed to reduce noise. Now if there is more flow that the muffler can handle it will rasp because of all the pressure that bulds and goes through the muffler.
To the OP. I have never heard it personally but my guess is it will sound like a civic with a fartcan.

Well I guess I'll save my money and buy a full exhaust system. I would love to retain the same note of the stock exhaust, just a notch up in noise. Any recommendations?

I've tried that setup. Test pipes with stock exhaust.

Its OK. Louder with a little rasp. But the gains are just waiting to happen when you connect a real exhaust system to them.
