'04 Coupe Megan V2 TP install..service engine light

I got the 'service engine soon' light within 10 miles of installing Megan Racing V2 test pipes to match my FI exhaust. I also noticed there is hardly any clearance between the resonator and heat shield under the car. I assume its not touching because I can't hear anything rattling. I thought 03/04 weren't suppose to throw codes with these pipes?

Get some O2 spacers. Drill them out. Install.

is your setup raspy?
my crawfordz hit the heat shield, really sucks. its not too bad though. most dont throw codes [03/04], but still happens. Mine never did... not even when i had test pipes. good luck! hope its sounds good

I've had my V2's on for almost two months now. The only time I got a code was right after I tracked it at Hallett Raceway. Cleared the code and haven't had a problem since. This was back on Aug 29th. What codes are you getting, P0430? If all else fails then buy the 02 extenders. Check to see if your 02 sensors are screwed in all the way. You didn't touch them or try to clean them with anything did you?

I might clear the code and see if it comes back. My MR2 used to throw an 02 code all the time because of the downpipe I had. These pipes aren't raspy at all IMO. The Fast Intentions Exhaust is super quiet until you install these pipes and it opens up I wouldn't call it exotic, but it definately sounds more like a BMW M series engine now.

Mine aren't too raspy. I have the Motordyne XYZ pipe with the resonated section installed right now and stock Y-pipe back (can't wait for the G35 Motordyne exhaust to come in!). I have a little bit of "metallic" or "bbs in a can" noise at partial throttle but goes away if I'm at WOT or anything over 4k. I also ordered the Motordyne hi-flow cat section, hopefully that will help some too. I was leaning toward the FI exhaust but stuck with the MD.
