Pop Charger Maintenance Schedule

I just got my Pop Charger/ Z Tube in the mail yesterday from EverythingG35.com... Not a bad price - 194 bucks out the door.

Anyway tho I figured it would come with some oil to lube it up but it didn't. Should I have bought some of this when I bought the kit or is it just ready to be put on? I dont wanna frick anything up. The instructions realy didnt say.

2nd question: I did a search but couldnt even find a thread to tell me how and when to "maintenance" the Pop Charger...Can anyone point me to one??? Many thanks.

Re: Pop Charger Maintenance Schedule

TheKid,

The Pop charger is ready to go, no need to oil it, as a matter of fact, if you see any excessive oil, like on the inside of the bag, or any dripping, wipe it out before you install it.

IIRC, the maintenance interval is somewhere around 25,000 miles if I'm not mistaken but it varies by your environment (i.e. sandy or dusty roads, or areas with pollen, etc.). Contact Jason from Performance Nissan, he will be able to answer that question more accurately.

Re: Pop Charger Maintenance Schedule

Install a manometer, prior to MAF [after filter] when the pressure drop exceeds 2.0-3.0 inches of water column [at 6500 rpm] time to clean and reoil.
[27.7' WC = 1psi which equals 1/14.7 or 6.8% less pressure
4.07" WC is equal to a 1% drop in atmosheric pressure.

Re: Pop Charger Maintenance Schedule

Alright So i'm busy installing my pop charger last nite. It took a little longer because I was busy bending brackets n such to try and get the heat shield to be placed rite so it doenst restrict air flow. I think i need to pull the pop charger down a bit from the ztube becuase it's not sitting totally right in there. Its kinda covered up by the top flap of rubber on the heat shield

Oh well so anyway...I took it out for a spin anyway as I could'nt wait any longer; kinda going slow at first just hittin 3-4k rpms', things are sounding nice. So finally i'm like WTF (step on it ) and this thing is so friggin loud i wasn't expecting it to be that loud and just startled the bejeebes out of me. This "crazy psychotic I have the sweetest car in the world" grin came over me and would not let go. My love for my G has just deepened .

Thanks to those that helped, specially Speedoholic...Mad Props to my man for the directions!!!!
