Mrev2 & 5/16 spacer installed!

Installed my Mrev2 and spacer this weekend. Fairly easy, and goes faster with 2 people. The hoses were definitely a pain, and if anyone get the copper iso thermal, beware to put the hoses on the copper iso first before anything otherwise the plenum original tube is blocking the new ones from the copper iso.

To Hydrazine: should the original plenum tube that connects the water hose be plugged off? or is it okay to leave it alone.

Anyways this was a really nice mod for the money, i expected more gains because of the rave reviews but it is what it is. Gains were noticeable after i did ecu reset. It pulls better now and i have a cute little induction high pitch wizz.

You don't need to do anything with the original tubes. You can cap them off if you like but there isn't any kind of flow going through them. They are inert.

That doesn’t sound quite right... Mine didn’t do any high pitch wizzing... low grunt though... in fact, until I did the spacer all I ever heard was my exhaust - after the spacer the engine was much throatier... maybe the lack of felt gains and wizz sound is indicative of a problem?

A high pitch sound isn't necessarily a problem.

I don't know how it works, but each car seems to make a slightly different sound when a spacer is installed.

Some make almost no sound at all.
Some make a deeper throatier sound with no whistle at all.
Some make a faint whistle.
Some make a loud whistle like a blow off valve.

Its not the spacer itself that makes the sound. Its the change in plenum internal volume and how the air rushes past the partially open throttle body valve.

And despite the different sounds, they can all be flowing perfectly and making good power.

Yea it is a little throatier but not by much. I'll try to get a vid of the whizzing sound. Basically anytime i tap the throttle quickly it makes the sound, if i floor it you hear it whine until shift and you hear the "pew". Sounds like a midget supercharger up front lol. And gains are really noticeable after i did ecu reset, really nice around town I really recommend this mod for every revup!

No, not at all.

I just signed up "Motordyne" for when the sponsorship comes on line.
I may use that handle for running introductory specials.

Man, I'm jealous of all you guys who have the MD spacer and MREV installed. I have them both sitting in my trunk just waiting. I planned on installing them this weekend but got called away to travel for work for the next couple of weeks. (Tony will get this one...traveling to the El Segundo facility for a Sine Vibe test). I guess I'll have to wait.

Wow! Right on.

If your coming from VA, you must be working a classified program.

They have some pretty incredible vibe platforms at Boeing.
