I have the HKS exhaust since May 07 and Berk HFC since Oct 09. Now running HKS rear section + HR y pipe + Berk HFC and love it. First couple weeks there is rasp esp from 3k to 4k then it dies down. I still have rasp when I gun it and shift at redline (7k).. Love it! Def felt the punch when I installed them.

I have Berk HFCs and an HKS exhaust. Fully broken in, there is still a little rasp, so I'm sure with Test Pipes there will always be rasp regardless of whether they are broken in or not.

Here, to help you with your decision [though its quality isn't that great since I took it on my Droid's camera phone]:

I have the same set up... HKS exhaust & Berk HFC's... as well as 5/16" Motordyne Copper Isothermal Plenum Spacer, Z-Tube, Stillen Heatshield & R2C filter combination.

Hope this helps.

Soo guys, for you guys who's had the berks hfc on for awhile now, has it thrown a CEL yet? Or will it?

I've read that it doesnt but i just want to make sure.

Also do HFC's in general void the warranty or does the "it has to be proven to have caused the problem" still apply?

I'm planning on BERK'S HFCs being my very next mod to amplify the sound of my HKS exhaust. My only concern w/b passing my yearly registration renewal with the smog check. I watched them closely this last year and they didn't look under my G while doing the test, so may not have issues with the visual. Will the Berk's pass the sniffer test?
Gary

This is my 10,000 post, that officially make me a post *****....

^Wondering the same thing Gary? Except in live in VA. Need to know if I would pass the sniffer test as well!

Anyone?

I just installed Berk HFC on my '07 G35. I have Stillen headers plus a Bassani dual exhaust system. My engine was recently rebuilt by Rebello Racing
engines which lowered my compression from 10.3:1 (OEM) to 9.32:1 to fully support FI.
My car is Vortech V2 supercharged putting 406hp to the wheel. The OEM cats were nice, not to loud with this set up. Even though the Berk HFC added 20hp and 27 WTQ to the calculus they did add a very almost excessive discernible level of decibel amplitude.
This "Loudness" question is really subjective unless you can quantify some kind of A-Weighting (IEC curves) pressure level.
With that being said, did my install of Berk HFC make my car louder? Yes, very much so, everybody will hear you a comin'.
Question is, "Do you want extra Loud??"
If not, you might want to rethink your options.
