Angry Stillen Intake & Z-Tube Installed: 1st Day Okay, 2nd Day Service Engine Soon!

I had my buddy throw on my Stillen Intake with Z-Tube and K&N filter and wow I absolutely LOVE the difference in sound and top end power. I felt like I may have lost a LITTLE bit on the low end but gained back more in the top end, definitely.

Anyway 5/5 stars for the intake review.

But now I randomly got a "Service Engine Soon" light on!

Is this pretty common for the Stillen intake? Should I just search how to reset the ECU? Thanks!

either that or disconnect the negative battery terminal overnight and the code will go away, then you can see if it comes back

I searched for idle reset and couldn't find anything, but I did read a few places to do something called "Idle air volume learning procedure" does anyone think this maybe it?

it's really easy, but it might take a couple tries to get it right

just make sure you go drive the car for like 15 minutes to get it warmed up first

I doubt you gained any top end. I sure didn't gain anything on mine.

Try to reset the ECU as stated above.

Okay well I did the relearning or whatever its called and I still have my service engine light on so I guess I'll try and reset my ECU. Does anyone know if this requires any tools?

Also my idle is right around 1K RPM's after the learning or whatever is this about right? Unfortunately I never paid attention to the idle before the intake was installed!

sounds like it didn't take, if you have a 6MT your idle should be at ~650 rpm

keep trying, its pretty tricky

but the key is to make sure the car is warmed up

but with a 1000 RPM idle, i'm 99% sure it's the high idle code. make sure you do all 3 of the resets before you do the idle air
