What excactly does changing the air intake do??, does it add performance, or is it just for the sound??.... Seems some people have sensor ( check engine light) after install. Is it really worth it ???.

the answer is simple, it is mostly for sound, most intakes will only make a little bit more power and might even lose you some power. and check engine lights is more a product of installation

 

+1...just get a z-tube and k&n drop in. no lights for me

my butt dyno said it added like 20hp lol

 

they actually add upwards of 500 whp.

 

if you get a CEL from an intake install then it isn't installed correctly.
