Megan Racing Headers
the only reason i started this thread was because i came up on some good and cheap headers and wanted to know if people had any technical advice about them, not to tell me what i should do with my money. i know ill get more power with other mods but this is what i have right now, all i hear is mrev and intallation is a PITA, ok thanks now please tell me something i didnt know when i got the car.
are megan headers known for cracking? as far as installation i know headers are a bitch to install because i worked in a shop and installed headers on a few cars and a few hot rods, but either way the only reason i bought these because i got such a good deal on them, im waiting to install untill i get more mods then i can just flash and get a big noticeable gain, i would do HFC or TP if they werent like 600 bucks.
Megan headers are no better than ebay headers and quite a few of them cracked.
I wouldn't trust those Made In China products.
i wasnt really trying to go cheap when looking for headers i figured i was getting a deal on some good headers, i didnt know they were made in china but that is interesting im not to sure how much i can trust them.
you should get the osiris reflash after you work on your plenum. good gains and the car will be able to make sense of all the parts youve added to your car. Megan is for pos civics. Headers on the vq can make some power if there are hfcs or test pipes installed too but youll make as much or more power with the plenum and be able to do the work fairly easily in about 2 hrs or less

I rather get a set of used DC, Strup or Stillen than a set of brand new Megan (But I have Nismo instead which I really love it)
But before you do headers you should do intake plenum which is a great gain on Rev-up. About 15whp gain on over all rpm.
And high flow cats or TP
So plenum>HFC/TP>headers
Headers should be your last thing you do on bolt ons.
Otherwise you can't get the most of of it
What the MREV2 or HFC....? MREV2 is an intake manifold put out by MotorDyne engineering....661-993-5111. HFC refers to High Flow Cats
which flow 30% better than OEM cats. Available with carb sticker from
Magnaflow exhaust....1-800-990-0905. These are the only HFC's
that are 50 state legal. (incl Ca.)

Headers are something you should do it right or not to do it at all.

+1
Might as well do some cams and long tube headers to get real gains from them.
word up well..ive got the mrev2 and 5/ths...and Berk HFC's in place...as well as K+N and ztube...neighbor/mechanic is willing to do the install with me for free with headers so thats not a burden...really stay away from megans? so which out of say strup, or stillen would you say are the way to go?
