06 sedan, removed resonator and installed a magnaflow one

I replaced the stock resonator with a 14" round magnaflow one.

this one to be exact. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...055426466&rd=1

sounds awsome, the video doesnt realy do justice, its just my sony still cam..
The Video makes it echo and sound alittle diffrent ( maybe even alil raspy if thats what you call it)

But in car it sounds pretty stock. just like a coupe does on the inside.

Outside is awsome, i cant belive how good it sounds.

total cost was 100$, sounds good and way cheaper then a catback..

In the video the car has a z-tube, 5/16 spacer, and the magnaflow resonator.

enjoy.

Next week ill have the stilln intake and y-pipe installed. and one day some HFC's

Enjoy

I think that is the one he bought. Just scroll down and it has a picture and the part number.

To the OP, it sounds good, kind of like putting a coupe midpipe on an early sedan. Is there any rasp?

I wonder how this would sound with the HKS rear section.

No rasp at all..

i think a hks rear section would sound good , but maybe aliltte to loud for my taste.

I plan on putting some high flow cats and have a y-pipe , those item increase the noise alot so.....

do you think a longer resonator could have been used without worrying about any bends or clearance? just trying to figure out the longest tube resonator that would fit.

FOr lenght I think the 18" one would of fit, this is the 14inch one and it fit perfect in place of the stock one.

and for width a oval one would requre more effeort to fit it in, pipe offsets and etc...
because theres is alot of room on the right side but not much at all on the left side....

Tips come out?Srry guys i forgot to snap a pic from underneath

the tips are in the same exact spot, what do you mean?

The rest of the exhaust didnt move, the old resonator was cut out and a new one was welded in.

Last question. Did the shop reattach another lead for the exhaust hanger? I see that one of them actually comes off the stock resonator, which was obviously cut out. I know the coupe midpipe only uses one hanger but I was concerned about any potential vibration issues.

nope no hanger, just the resonator was welded in.
When the car was on the lift i moved the exhaust around with my hand and it didnt have much movement and didnt hit anything.

The reason the stock resonator has a hanger is because its pretty heavy, about 25/30lbs if i was to guess.

The magnaflow one weights less then 10 lbs.....

Its barley any louder, after removeing the stock y-pipe I noticed it has a decent flow design to it.. No resonator or anything.
