Fujitsubo Y-Pipe

Enough people have said the OEM exhaust on the coupe is well tuned. With that said, how do aftermarket components like the Fujitsubo or Bullet Y-Pipe compare to the OEM Y-Pipe?

Re: Fujitsubo Y-Pipe

If you do a search for fujitsubo y-pipe or JIC Y-Pipe you will see where I've posted links to photos that show the differences between the two.

The 2 Y-Pipes that look the best IMO from a fluid flow perspective appear to be the Top Secret (pricey) and the JIC. Some people will get into arguements about pressure drops and diameter changes (something I'm going to totally avoid all together).

For the record, I chose JIC and with any luck, should be getting it delivered any day now. I'll try to take photos of it side by side with the stock Y-Pipe and post back.

BTW, I don't buy into the whole "true dual" exhaust like many people do. If you are not going FI, I'm not too sure it will do you much good (when compared to just buying a Y-Pipe). The horsepower gains "should" be close enough that the extra $400-$800 for another 1-2 hp would not be worth it.

Keep in mind that this post is based on speculation. I've done a bunch of reading and gathered my own data to come to these conclusions. People like Jason (from Performance Nissan), Eagle1, "the great" -fish (aka Catatatatatatatatatat-fish) and my own personal experiences.

Your mileage may vary...

Re: Fujitsubo Y-Pipe

If your keeping the 65mm oem pipe size down stream, contact Kinetix and see when their pending Y-pipe will be out. It is a copy of the Jic Y-pipe, but with a 65mm collector vs the Fujisubo and Jic's 80mm collector, which is ment to hook up to a Jic or Fujitsubo exhaust system down stream and use's 76.3mm or 80mm piping to the muffler.

Y-pipe is not on their web site, you must call them to find out it's status.

Re: Fujitsubo Y-Pipe

no, i didn't ask. forgot to. however, if you look on the picture above by gsedan35, the kinetix banner says "$349.99." actually sounds pretty steep. but still not as expensive as the JIC or Fujisubo but it has smaller diameter piping. i guess its good if your gonna keep the mid-pipe

Re: Fujitsubo Y-Pipe

So does that mean the Fujitsubo exhaust mid-pipe section will not mate up with the OEM Y-pipe?

Re: Fujitsubo Y-Pipe

No, the Fuji mid pipe bolts up perfectly to the oem y-pipe.
