How's this thing feel? Anybody know if these things actually show any gains on a dyno?

I'm not a fan of mods like this, but every time I see it posted, it makes me wonder if these can do anything at all...

to be honest i really woudnt be able to tell you. i just put in a md spacer, and a stillen exhaust system so... lol. but i can vouch for these things. sean church told me that he tested a bunch of these on the vq and he saw gains of 8hp. i will be getting a dyno again, so will let you know if it increased or not. IMO, buy it

Since you put the spacer and the exhaust on at the same time there is no way you will be able to answer the question of whether or not the spacer helped.

I've done extensive testing of this exact spacer (with the help of others)... I have it on my car - for what it's worth.

There was a bunch of info provided quite a while back, but too many yahoos wanted to debate it - so I stopped bothering to post real world info.

All I can tell you is I rarely lose on the track - so the mods I chose can’t be all bad.

I'm not going to debate this mod with anyone out here. I'm not going to field questions and not going to try to convince anyone of anything... there has been plenty of information previously provided to make an informed decision.

IMO, 4drmadness made a good decision and seems to be on his way to a decent performing sedan. he's one of the few that seems to have made good use of the info available in his mod quest (even though some of the choices aren’t what I would have done, they are better than many have gone with out here).

Ed in Canoga Park, CA put a custom TB on his 350Z..which I saw back in 07 at a meet in So cal...He saw only 5hp gain with his mods and Dyno..He owns Precision Z Services by the way..good choice though..it will give u some gains..If I did it again I would leave the stock intake box and just get the TB with Ztube installed..less hassle with the law..doesnt matter though..I have way to many goodies now to care about that

So according to the pic, on the left side, there will be the plenum, and on the right side of the spacer, there will be the throttle body right?

yes - based on the pic, the left side mounts to throttle body...

I spoke with the manufacturer of this spacer many times... the fact that it works on the VQ the way it does wasn’t really designed that way, it just worked out - this spacer is also made for many other cars – so the design wasn’t specific to our engine, but works for specific reasons... like I said before, I'm not going to go into the details because its been done before at length... if you go to one of the meets or events, I'll get you up to speed on everything that was done in regards to this spacer.

The reason I even said this much is because a few of us considered flipping the direction - mounting with broad end of grooves towards throttle body, but I don’t think anyone ever took the time to, DaveO might have... so since you have been interested enough to do before and afters of other mods, it might be worth while to see what happens when this one is flipped over... based on the theory (that most of us using it has) of why this one works - it probably wont be as useful flipped over.

I'm not going to get into anything more about this spacer out here (just because of past headache trying to help the community regarding it)... play around with different install and you'll come up with your own conclusions.

U know what, i might just do a before and after on both sides. When i go for my tune, i will ask HBSPEED if they will do it.
