5/16 plenum
5/16 plenum
I am thinking about buying a 5/16 plenum I have two questions
1. Is this something I can install myself, or would I need a shop to install it for me.
2. What exactly does this do? I apologize for being a n00b.

1.) you can do it yourself with minimal tools.... go to infinitihelp.com and the DIY section, theres a good video of the install
2.) more air into the intake plenum = more air to cylinders = more power

Plenum spacers....not the blame for mileage decrease!
HAHA, that is possible but it won't be the fault of the spacer. The spacer is
only correcting a design flaw made by Nissan with our engines. With the
spacer your G will be more responsive which feels good to your right foot
which is connected to your brain. Kinda like a new exhaust, it sounds and
feels good when I mash the throttle....again and again.

+1, you can install it yourself...its easier of you have a buddy help you, the damn coolant hoses were a p.i.t.a. to get off

I just put in my 5/16 iso thermal copper spacers, and Mrev2 this weekend with help from a friend. the whole process took us about 3.5 hours, but we took our time, to make sure everything was perfect. It should take you about 1.5-2 hours for just the spacers. It makes things alot easier if you have a friend helping you. makes sure that you use a toeque qrench, and do not over torque the bolts. Also make sure that you use Inch LBS, and not Foot Lbs.
The plenum spacer I'm thinking about buying is the 5/16 spacer only, no gasket or caps. If I use my stock gasket will I see a power decrease, or will there still be an increase just not as much?
the MotorDyne come with gaskets. but you can leave your stock gasket on anyways...doesn't matter. i left mine on in case i ever wanted to go back stock i'd know where it was (verses getting lost in my garage). their install manual states that it's optional - remove it or leave it in place.
