Changing stock muffler on a G35 sedan ...hmm...HELP !!!

Hey Folks,

Got a question, any suggestions would be great...

I'm thinking about replacing my stock muffler...It doesn't need to be done, but I would like a deeper sound out of it since my 03 isn't as loud as the dual exhaust Infiniti's out there. and I'm envious

I've seen some Dyno and Flo master mufflers out there ( between 100-150 bucks ), just the muffler, nothing else...Will a new muffler alone give me a deeper sound, or do I need to start changing things like Cat's, full exhaust, etc... ?

Not looking for performance gains, just something that sounds a little deeper...

Thanks
Steve

AFAIK if you change your sedan mid pipe for an 06 coupe mid pipe and then an aftermarket rear section ... HKS .... you will get a deeper sound.

If you change the mid pipe to the 06 coupe, will that change it to the dual muffler?

+1 I put a 06 coupe mid pipe on my 05 Sedan and it gave it a little more grawl. saves you some weight too.

Short asnwer is YES!
but paying 100-150 for just a muffler is a ripoff. U can get magnaflow mufflers from $50-$70 which make one of the best sounds for all cars including ours IMO.

Are mufflers "bolt on" mods or is welding required? How about the mid-pipe?

if u get part of aftermarket complete exhaust like stillen, hks and such, i think it bolts right up. If not then it has to be welded.
