I got it done in N.C.

I just called and they would charge $765 that is for the kit, labor, and new fluid.

I think the kit itself was about $270-$280. I told you $580 because I subtracted the amount I paid for a SGP VB I bought from a member that did not work with my car because it was a 04.5.

Check out the instructions you can probably do it yourself since you've done VBs before.

I think member jjyellow was selling them for $210 or something like that.

read this thread on it. Maybe you ask DV8 about it.

I saw the post about jjyellow selling them but that was last year and he never answered the question about whether or not he was still selling them...just called Trango to see how hard this would be and he told me this was not any more difficult than doing them on the AODE mustangs but the VB was a grand from Infiniti if something went wrong since the computer was hooked directly to it and the tranny computer was VIN specific...the cheapest I could find it for was $225 just for the kit, not taking into account fluid.

so are you going to try it with that info? New fluid is around $100-$120 since we have to use j-matic only.

Where did you find it for $225?

http://www.txchange.com/order.htm...called the 1-800 and spoke with Dave who quoted me that price.

Is the only place to get the J-matic fluid from is the dealer? I read 6-7 qts was the average.

How much are you paying for labor in CA? The kit we will say is $225, $100-120 for the fluid so that means they are charging is $340 for installing the kit...I read someone had it done at a shop and it took them 3 hours so 340/3= $110 an hour...that seems expensive to me and encourages me to do it myself.

Its kinda funny because initially GTM and Forged were selling the upgraded VB for $1200… then quite some time later they were selling just the Transgo Kits for $200 – so many of us were scratching our heads wondering why its was $1K in labor… Now GTM sells the entire upgrade for $847 or Transgo VB only for $285 – so I guess to answer you question directly its $562 labor (and that’s not including remove and replacing the VB in to the trans).

http://www.gtmotorsports.com/home.php?cat=345

The problem I find is there aren’t many (if any) shops that will install the kit into the VB… any transmission shop will R&R the VB, but finding someone to install the kit is difficult.

Gotcha...I mave 3-4 on AODE mustangs and after looking at what is included in the kit there isn't anything different...springs, check ***** and springs...I understand the VB is different but Transgo emailed me the directions so I will look at them and see if I am comfortable doing it..they used to send a video as well as the directions so I set up a TV/VCR in my garage when I did them!

maybe my new vid this weekend will help you change your mind.

I plan on going to the track and take some vid inside and out. I also have a dash and track vid with just the stillen VB also that I will combine with the new one.

Thanks for the kudos Mike you've driven my car with the Stillen it shifts 10x harder now.

How is the car any new mods?
