High flow cats / test pipes Smog Test
Are there any HFC's or test pipes that would pass yearly inspections for emissions? Doubt it, how do you get around it? Change back to your stock cats once a year? I have a Stillen Gen 2 exhaust and want to add a little power. This is a daily driver car but looking to take to the track sometime.

once a year? Does TX require smog every year
Crawford look pretty stock... they should pass the sniffer and possibly visual. Otherwise swap tot OEM (every other year in CA)...
Since new cars only require after the first 6 years - Gs are only recently starting to smog regularly now that used are available and first versions are now 6 years+ so as time goes on we'll start to see/hear about smog check stories.

In TX it's once a year if your car is between 2 and 24 years old unfortunately. Sounds like there is no way around this other than to swap back to OEM cats. Anyone else have ideas?
I wonder if swapping back and forth from OEM to HFC's or test pipes would affect a tune. Not that I have one yet but hypathetically.

there are federal regs regarding cats... so even legal replacements need to meet criteria in order to be used.
I don’t believe there is any state that allows aftermarket cats without just cause (failure of OEM with documentation, etc…)
Whether or not the smog tech will know its aftermarket or not is an entirely different issue...
