Unhappy Resonator Delete?

New to the forums... so this may not be the right thread but, thinking about taking the resonator off of the G35. So we went to the exhaust place and the guy behind the counter said that taking the resonator can hurt the performance of the car. Is this true? If so iv seen and heard of people doing it before. What do you have to do or have done to do this with out changing the performance of the engine?

Thanks!

Hey Randy, "Welcome to Driver!"

Randy, did you go to a muffler shop or some autoparts store? Removing the resonator will not hurt performance, all it will do is change the sound. Have a muffler shop replace it, but don't throw it away just in case you don't like the new sound....you'll have an option.
