Stillen True dual coupe exhaust with borla muffler..

Anyone think I'll see gains with all stillen piping (2.5 inch) true dual that dumps into a Borla true dual muffler that has 2.25-2.35 piping.. What about sound? Any rasp? Is the 2.5 piping into the smaller 2.25-2.35 piping going to bottle neck and make me lose power?

Reason I'm asking is because I have all the stillen parts but no mufflers. I do have a Borla muffler though.

take the stillen piping to a exhaust shop and see if they have anything the same diameter that would work or make the borla work with it.

as far as losing power and sound i don't know. Does the stillen piping have resonators?

Stillen piping is an X pipe with 2 mid pipes that both have resonators on them. I know I can easily have an exhaust shop make this all work but it will go from 2.5 all the way then once the muffler is reach it will go down to 2.25-2.35.

Are you trying to say that I should cut the pipes off the borla and weld 2.5 inch piping?

What about running two aftermarket mufflers or something?

i meant 2 aftermarket mufflers the same diameter as the stillen piping. you already have the piping for a 2.5 system you just need the mufflers now.

I was thinking the same thing but I'm scared that if I slap on some universal magnaflows the exhaust will sound like a$$.. I was looking up Sebring mufflers that are used on fast intentions exhausts and I cannot find them anywhere on the internet.

When I was purchasing for my other car the shop had more than one set of mufflers and we fitted them on with me in the drivers seat. This way I could hear what they sounded like in the car. One set in particular caused a resonance in the car but sounded great outside the car. I ended up with Magnaflow. The only issue I had is cracking at the exhaust end of the muffler. This may have been due to water in the system since I did go through some deep water during a flood.

Anyway just a thought, you may be able to test fit a couple of sets.

How do you exactly test fit muffler without welding?

maybe clamps like they have on the borla exhaust.

I think that is the same muffler FI uses. They don't cost much.

I would guess that dropping to the 2.25-2.35" borla mufflers would create some bottleneck that will reduce scavenging...ultimately lowering performance to some extent.

So if you buy those at 109 a piece and a magnaflow x pipe at around 140 you can make your own Fast Intentions exhaust with some custom piping for roughly $500? Seems like a way better option to me than paying the full price tag..

But anyways... I might just go to some muffler shops to "test fit, and sound" some muffler options and see if I like anything.. If not I'll buy 2 Sebring mufflers.

Here's what the Stillen pipes look like.. I think its a good solid base as far as piping.. I'm loving the X pipe

Depends on the bell on the muffler. You can often clamp it. In my case they were tack welded in place.
