Some people are suggesting its the cats that're gone so I think I have to replace everything from the cats & back.

1) Anybody have rusting issues with the HR Y-pipes?

2) Will this mate up: HR/M2 Y-pipe -> Coupe midpipe -> HKS sport axleback/muffler?

3) What cats can I use for the 04 G35X and to mate up with the HR/M2 Y-pipe?

PS- Awesome thread for X-'ers!

I have the M2 ypipe/coupe midpipe and HKS axleback all mated up. Sweet setup IMO.

So just to get this straight, Nissan 370Z / Infiniti G37 2008-2010 3.7L V6 VQ37VHR Stainless Steel Y Pipe :Automotive fits as a direct replacement of the y-pipe on an otherwise stock 05x exhaust?

Mine is falling apart at the flex and its either have the flex fixed for 300 or buy another y pipe.

fyi: Well I called M2 Performance and the guy said this does not fit the 05x due to the driveshaft / transfer case area and that heavy modification is needed. I'm not sure how the OP was able to bolt it right on?

Am I gonna have any rasp if I put on a 370Z Y-pipe to an 04 G35x? The Y-pipe I'm picking up for free, I currently have AAM Competition G35 2.5" HFCs and a MF 14832 exhaust on the way along with a coupe midpipe. I hope there isn't too much rasp, hope it sounds good too. The reason I want to change out the Ypipe is that the flex pipes are starting to fall apart. Maybe I should sell the 370 Y pipe and just go to the exhaust shop and have them replace it? Does anyone even have a 370Z Ypipe on their 1st gen AWD G's?

Ok I finally did it to save money. Just went along with installing the 370Z HR Y Pipe & G35 Coupe Mid. No vibration noises & rasp. Still waiting on my MF 14832 street series exhaust & an extension piping. Had to replace the midpipe due to it snapping in 1/2, again!

Make sure you are talking about the Y-pipe for the 2nd gen ('08+). M2 makes 2 designs - one first gen, which is the design that doesn't fit, and one second gen, which is the HR-design that does fit. Not sure why they told you it wouldn't fit as I am 99% sure the transfer case is in the same place on 04 and 05.

will fit my 2006 G35x or not.
If not what Y pipes can I use?
Thanks.

I put an m2 on my 05'x right after winter last year.
So far I've spend days re welding where the thin cheap metal cracked open and leaks. The flex sections on my m2 rotted out months ago. M2 is absolute crap. It does fit though. I'm having a y pipe made for my x. I'm fed up.

My y-pipe also needs to be replaced; 2005 G35x. Have you considered buying the Bosal y-pipe?

Where are you finding it for that price? I need to order one. Good thing I'm married or it would be embarrassing trying to pick up chicks with the rattle.

ETA: Just ordered it from partsgeek.com for less than $160 shipped.

They already shipped it out and it should be here by today (NJ to PA). This is a direct OEM replacement so I'm thinking everything should bolt up nicely. I'm f'in tired of hearing the rattle. Oddly enough, the sound goes away when I turn up the radio
