I want to dress up the engine bay a bit, but I am not going CAI since i have the RevUp box + drop in.

Where the can I find one? Polished silver or polished black chrome. How bad will heat soak issues?

Might as well go with aftermarket intake....heat soak is gonna defeat the purpose of keeping stock airbox.

a polished z-tube won't heat soak ur engine anymore than ur OEM plenum already will, now an after market intake like the Fuji w/o a heat shield will straight up suck hot air in.

Underhood intake air and heat soak are two different things. Heatsoak is refering to the ability of a material to retain heat. Yes, the plastic Z tube and the metal one are both going to get equally as hot just from being under the hood. But the plastic is going to get "cooled" by the intake air faster then the metal will. I.E. the metal will retain the heat longer then the plastic will.

Studies have been done that show that allthough a cone style intake is open to the underhood temps, while moving there is little intake temp differences between OEM and cone style due to the fresh air being "pushed" into the front bumper.

But yes, OEM is the best way to go, Cone and Z tube is the second best, and aftermarket all metal intake is the wost.

I would never use metal heat shield or induction tube... either silicone (Samco makes), CF (MSA has), or plastic (OEM)... for dress-up you can paint the cf or plastic whatever color fits your engine bay theme...

I was really looking forward to phenolic lower collector from mde... oh well
