MAF cleaning help

i read many threads and DIYs but i wanted to make sure of these.
1) Is it ok if i use Valvoline throttle body& carb cleaner to clean MAF? or do i have to use CRC MAF sensor cleaner?
2) People say that spray the wire that detects the flowing air volume. WOuld the squirt of the spray will damage this sensor? or should i spray AROUND the sensor?

3) do i JUST spray the MAF and let it dry or do i use microfiber rag to cleaning?

4) lastly, would the MAF be damaged if i spray too much- like dripping?
thx guys

use CRC MAF cleaner - do not use TB cleaner... just spray it on and let it air dry (it drys very quick)... its almost impossible to spray too much (since it dries so fast), but there is no point in using more than necessary... if you leave the sensor in the housing, just spray liberally to each side while holding the housing vertical (so what small amount of liquid residue is there drips out)...

Don't rub anything on the sensor... the CRC cleaner removes soils and wont leave a residue - you dont need to wipe it off.

i just fnished cleaning the sensor. i just sprayed like 10~12 times but don't feel like it got cleaned( although it's already clean) Does the spray like dissolves or melts away the dirty stuff on the sensor?

This is kinda out of topic but is GUMOUT TB cleaner good? or should i stick with valvoline. there was only Gumout TB cleaner at Kragen.

your maf sensor shouldn't have been that dirty (unless you ran with no air filter or a tom of oil on a rechargeable)...

Anyway - here is CRC MAF Cleaner info: http://www.crcindustries.com/files/19965_1.PDF

As for TB cleaner, I use Gumout - it works real well...
