Today I decided to clean my pop charger filter so I went to the G, tools in hand and popped open the hood. As I'm unscrewing the engine cover bolts I notice that it's a little dusty so when i got the bolts off I set it aside for cleaning. As I'm rinsing it off, I notice the imprint of the "V6/3.5" is now black. Isn't it suppose to be RED?! Did my engine get so hot that it faded the color right off the cover?! I'm freaking out. I'm not crazy, am I?

I have the special "midnight edition" engine cover... it has the center part in black too...

 

mine were all black, emblems silver.

There were no two tone, just all black.

I also had the special Midnight Edition, along with factory brake cover delete as shown in the pic for maximum weight savings.

Those letters/numbers actually glow in the dark, but only when the hood is closed, so it's kinda like the reverse of the light in your refrigerator going off.
