Just a quick question regarding Megan's y-pipe that was mentioned earlier, I found it here for a fairly good price (comparable to the M2 in the OP)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MEGAN...item2309f6b86b
it also has 2.5" ID and 3" OD. I am confused though, can these aftermarket y's with the 3" OD bolt on directly to an 05/06' middy? Being that the middy ID is definitely less than 3"..

Yes it would be great to hear a before/after Y-pipe w/o adding an exhaust. If anyone ever gets the Ypipe installed by itself, try to get a vid done, I'm sure a lot more ppl would like to hear the difference too! Thanks!

Megan Racing's new version 2 ypipe (along with the M2's version) should fit your AWD. It is an HR style.

I installed this Y-pipe with my ExoticSpeed PWR Si.

It's definately a lot faster but I am not sure if this 3" Y pipe is making too much sound or is it my exotic? The 1800-3000 RPM going uphill is way too loud... It's like I don't even want to gas it... and quite embarassing for the passengers..

I was wondering if going back to the stock Y-pipe / HR Y-Pipe will clear the that sound...

Has anyone experienced this with a 3" Y pipe?

Are any of you guys with the 3" single exhaust running with stock / HR Y-pipe. Does it make it much more quiet when Y pipe is less than 3"?

Please give me some advice...

I think its the exhaust.

throw on your stock ypipe and see if there is a difference in sound.

I just get this constant heavy bass sound going slightly uphill on the freeway between 2000-3000 RPM. It's kind of harsh on the ears. It's the bass. I am not sure / don't think my Exoticspeed exhaust is suppose to have this constant bass?

Has anyone tried an after market with a 3" Y pipe and a stock/HR Y-pipe to compare the sound?

I have the Exotic-speed R1-T with a motordyne XYZ pipe with resonator. With stock cats there was no drone at all...it sounded great. Now I run the same setup but with resonated test pipes and that's where the drone came in. I recently swapped out the xyz resonator for a straight pipe and now the drone is gone again!

so...are you running stock cats? if so maybe you should just look into another y-pipe...put the stock y-pipe on and see what it sounds like.
