NEW! Takeda intake. Greattt design!!!

Anybody heard of this intake before? I think is a great design. The filter connects to the front of the stock airbox utilizing the stock ram air ducts. I think using this filter with a z-tube will make the perfect intake.

Yeap especially now. Well and I think the z tube being plastic will absorb less heat from the engine bay than a metal piping.

Well according to Takeda it produced 13hp and 15lbs. x ft. of torque on a 2004 Coupe w/automatic transmission but I don't really know if you can trust those numbers

It is still a great design and should maintain consistant increases in power throughout various temp ranges. Only thing I'd have to do to it would be repaint the hard pipe, I'm not a big polished fan.

This is the design I've been talking about for ages. It's good to see someone actually build. I agree though, metal intake pipes suck. That's a bad choice on their part. The other issue is that the OEM accordian peice in the intake serves a purpose, to add flexibility to the intake as the motor rocks in it's mounts. The engine can rock violently from side to side on launches and shifts. Without the accordian, you risk snapping the plastic chassis stay on the OEM front airbox and/or having the intake tube get pulled of the TB.
I'll buy this intake if three people post consistent 5whp+ gains across the entire powerband. Otherwise, I'll stick with my OEM Frankenstein setup.
