I just cut my air box around so the opening could be bigger and more volume of air could be passed by. Actually the radiator is the same distance away like the g35 air box.

 

I suspect he's drawing air from closer to the grille - I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure the radiator core support is cut - I'm not sure what location he's cutting though, in front of air box and routing air from ducting, or in another area of the core support and ducting to the box.

I havent seen the setup, but from what little I gathered in another thread I think it's a better setup that the one you linked.

 

i have my radiator support cut also and its cut by the grill which brings direct air to the intake rather than having the piping like the COLD AIR DIY
