Resonated TPS, resonator damage?

Hey guys,

I searched quite a bit on here and my350z and have came up with no answers to my questions. I bought some Fast Intentions resonated test pipes from a user on my350z. They got here on thursday. I had a chance to give them a real good look over today and noticed the resonator on the inside of the passenger pipe is torn. The preferated metal is raised up about 1/4" and the metal looks torn. What are the possible problems with this? I'll try to get some pictures when I have access to a camera. TIA for the help.

-Sean

Edit: Pics added. Sorry for the bad pics. At least it gives an idea of the damage.

Nice pic, that's not torn more like poor quality. Since they're test pipes regardless of how they're made you'll have less restriction than your OE cats. You could have a muffler shop heat up and flatten that area if that bothers you, issue closed!

Speaking as a QC guy, I'd say 'send it back! Get a replacement. You didn't pay for a damaged part"

I'd get that replaced... I would not want to get into a race with someone a loose because of that little burr... nor would i want to lose points at a car show for a restricted flowing exhaust...

SRSLY... I think you a worrying over nothing... You should worry more about posting your threads in the correct section.

Correct section? IIRC, test pipes are a exhaust component. Hence why I put it in the Intake/Exhaust section.

I'm gonna go ahead and install these today. We'll see how they turn out. Hopefully there wont be any rasp due to the damage. Thanks for you input guys.

They're test pipes, there will def be rasp. You need to listen for rattling or other odd sounds.
