The exhaust note will be slightly higher, at least from my experience. That was also with the stock sedan exhaust. Sounds even s3xier now with the coupe mid pipe that I installed.

You'll also get a slight power increase, but nothing earth shattering lol.

And pretty sure it should just bolt up to your existing exhaust.

I love what the HR Y pipe has done to my exhaust note. Take a listen for yourself!

Pain simple truth you might understand!

If you want to change the sound of your exhaust and gain HP just replacing the y-pipe is not the answer. The restriction within your exhaust is the OE cats! If you replace them with HFCs (high flow cats) like BERKS you'll not only change the exhaust note but gain 10 RWHP. Replacing the y-pipe in comparison is a joke along with a waste of your hard earned $$!

^agreed.
When I changed to the hr y pipe there wasn't much of an exhaust note change (nor power)
BUT I did notice a more fluid powerband if that makes any sense.
Basically when I got on the gas there was a more even & gradual acceleration.
It made shifting through the 6MT easier.

I got this done after several months looking for the right used Y pipe.

The results were not amazing, but enough to make me not regret it.
The powerband improved as mentioned above. Also, the minimal rasp I had from my OE YPipe under hard acceleration went away.
I belive the HR Ypipe will be more beneficial flow wise once I install the Motordyne ART pipes, since I believe that whatever flow I marginally improved with the Y pipe is still being clogged up by my OE cats.

07 or 08 Hr Nismo Z, not sure which one but both have the same Y-Pipe and will do the job.

To Saywhat:
I believe overall it was worth it, as long as you're not expecting this swap to give you major performance gains. The only major difference I saw was helping smooth the flow across the mid RPMs

I had this on my car for about a year before going to HKS Rep + Magnaflow X-pipe. I'd say that it makes the sound maybe 10% louder, not very noticable at all. Perhaps slightly deeper, but it smooths out the throttle tip ip a bit. Not a bad mod, but not worth more than 100 dollars to me if you're buying it for sound. My entire exhaust with the new xpipe + welding and bending for fitment, cost less than 500 and gives substantially more power than just a y-pipe. Also, sounds great as well. :]
