A newbie in need

Well, about 4 months ago i got a g35 as my first car. I bought it off my older brother for 12k (my dad promised to pay half of what i could save.). I really don't know much about cars but i would love to learn. It is an 07 and i was wondering if anyone has put a new intake in theirs and could tell me how difficult it was and maybe some recommendations on what model of intake i should buy.

Intakes are generally useless for our cars. Look up the Intake Dyno Myth thread. You'll find that the Rev-Up Airbox with the Z-tube and K&N Drop-In filter had the best results.

If you have the manual version, you already have the Rev-Up Airbox. If you have the automatic, find yourself a used one and z-tube on eBay or the forum Marketplace. Drop those in with the filter and call it done.

If you'd like an intake for show and still have some performance benefit, the Furookie and Injen CAI are the two most popular on the forum.

Welcome to the forums Christian!

^^^ is right about the dyno results on Air Intakes. I however purchased a Injen CAI before I read that thread. It's added great looks under the hood and screams at WOT much louder than stock. I did feel a difference in power once the OEM was replaced by the Injen. How much power (if any), I couldn't tell you as it wasn't dynoed.

Definately spruces up the engine bay however.
