Anyone Modified the Invidia Gemini Y-Pipe?

I'm looking to possibly pick up a used Invidia Gemini exhaust. A used FI would be ideal, but even used ones are still pricey.

My concern with this exhaust is how far back the X-pipe merge is located. My arm-chair tuning research points a y-pipe merge being done closer to the cats than where the Invidia merge is located. Just looking at other exhaust options and they all have a y-/x-pipe merge sooner.

Too many people have invidia gemini in their signatures, so a search turns up too much spam to find dyno sheets.

So my main questions are: does the gemini merge location really have a big effect on horsepower gains? If so, has anybody modified theirs? similar to how people splice in a magnaflow x-pipe on the knock-off HKS exhausts...

I switched the resonator location on mine with a magnaflow x pipe. My resonators are now where the invidia x used to be.

I switched mine due to the same reason you posted merge location.

Pulls a little harder to me. I'll take pics tonight when I get my 3.7FD installed.

So you have the magnaflow AND the invidia resonators? I bet that's one quiet exhaust. Please do post pics!

Yes it is sleeper until you get on it, but still not loud. I was afraid it might drone without the resonators so I kept them.

I had MBS in Pasadena do it no piping was added to swap locations.

I'm happy with it along with the longtubes. The car still put down 289 on hills dyno.

I at first switched the invidia X, but it had rasp so i got the magnaflow. The magnaflow x had no rasp when installed.

The magnaflow is the same X that FI uses.

The closer an x pipe is to the combustion chambers, the more it will aid in scavenging.

@Dsskyline I'd love to see pics of that setup you were talking about (swapping the Magnaflow X with the resonators). I might be interested in something similar myself.
