Is this any good? ...AAM Spacer

Got a AAM "angled" intake plenum spacer off Craig's List.

Some questions-
1) Is AAM is out of business?

2) I watched some videos of the Motordyne and Skunkworks2 spacers. *Both of these kits come with ~ 1/2" spacers for the (6?) bolts in the middle of the plenum top in addition to the main spacer. *It seems that the middle bolts go into "cast posts" in the top and the bolts seat the posts on the plenum bottom. *Seems that without these spacers and the main spacer installed when one tightens the mid bolts that the upper plenum will deform and/or crack. Is this thing worth installing on an 06 non-rev up?

THX

so if the whole top is raised ~ 1/2" the 6 middle posts will not seat and as the bolts are tightened the cast aluminum will stress/deform/crack...

Does anyone have any knowledge of the AAM spacer?

do this and you'll be fine.

Once you install the spacer and plenum, tighten only outside bolts across each other
Once you are done tightening those off, just slightly tighten 6 in the middle, just barely so it does not warp the plenum.

Some aftermarket plenums come without bolts in the middle, so they are not that important.
What is important that you tighten bolts in order described above.
Also you got to make sure you got longer bolts, did you get those with a spacer?

THX Joker

I get it... but it seems to me now that this cast top piece is going to flex some which could lead to cracking.

It make sense now that they use "o-ring" washers on those 6 bolts.

And yes [Frankieg] I'm aware of the BEWARE of AAM and their stuff but I got this on the cheap....well I thought I did....you get what you pay for....

this might turn out to be a waste of time.

THX though

it would not flex if you don't tighten the center bolts at all.

I just hand tightened mine and it's been like this for past 3 years.

I have the bolts and new o-ring washers. The install will take place this week.

This is going on an A/T. Will I lose any low end torque?
