MAF sensor not on intake

So I aquired a g35 intake with no MAF sensor port. Im just wondering if theres any way I can still use the intake? is it completely necessary for the MAF sensor to be attatched? I ran the car for a few minutes after unpluging the sensor from the stock intake and the car ran fine, however it did turn on the check engine light. But that was expected. Also is it possible to get rid of the check engine light without bringing the g to a shop now?

If the intake is metal you can get a bung welded on to it. I know Forged Performance has them, and other shops should too. If it is plastic you "could" get a bung to stick on but more common would be to use couplers to attach the factory MAF sensor housing to your intake which is what a lot of systems do anyway.

As far as the CEL, I think UPREV's Cipher can get rid of it or the pedal/battery reset method.

with the stillen you reuse the stock MAF sensor housing.

I think he has a intake labeled for a G35 but not a stock one.

FYI
The stock Intake has 3 major components:
1. The intake tube that runs from the plenum
2. The MAF housing that is between the intake tube and filter and "duh" holds the MAF sensor . This is reused for many aftermarket intake kits.
3. The filter which connects to the MAF housing.
