5AT with MREV2 + 5/16th spacer
5AT with MREV2 + 5/16th spacer
Does anyone have this combo on a 5at non revup motor??
I just bought a MREV2 for a good price and I just wanna know if this combo will yield results on top of my 5/16th spacer already or if I'm going to loose power??
I've read and seen threads showing dyno charts stating the 5/16th spacer + mrev2 on a 5at non revup will do good and yield extra power combine together than just one or the other.
BUT.. I also found an independent study showing it will loose peak power combining the two but gain in overall curvature in the power band.
I already have a Osiris tune for my 5at FYI.
Any info is helpful.

Here is the independent dyno I was talking about on a non revup motor

^I don't see peak power being lost in any of those dynos, and the power curve is improved as expected. I've never heard of people losing power by installing the MREV2 + spacer. Throw them both on your car.

I have a DE nonrev motor and I just picked up a used MREV2 for the sole purpose of picking up a few exta HP and TQ.
With a retune and HFC which I will be doing all at once I should net some decent gains.

Does anyone here have the mrev2 and 5/16th spacer on their non revup motor???
I just spoke to a jotect tuner and he told me the mrev2 wont make a difference (hes done many dynos testing the mrev2 plus spacer on a non revup), but maybe 1-2 power difference, which would be a waste in spending the amount of money for the part.
If anything, I could do this mod myself and machine down the front two runners like DaveB dide and save me money. Just my thought on it.

Did you see the dyno in one of the links above which shows the gains of the MREV2 when the 5/16 spacer was already installed? That should be enough to answer your question.
Which is why most will not recommend getting the MREV2 for a non-revup.
I will agree that for the price of a new MREV2 the gains are probably not worth the money on a nonrev motor. There are however gains to be had with both.
Please keep in mind also that a tune is required when a nonrev has both mods.

I dont really like looking at dyno graphs from the company that produces the part. It seems a bit fixed... I dont know if that is the correct word Im looking for but no offense.
If you actually read the entire independent dyno, there are different things the parts do with one or the other and or both combined.
Yeah there are gains to be had but it looks from the independent dyno, the mrev2 + spacer lost peak power but gained throughout the power band compared to just the spacer itself.

So yes, if you have the money and trying to squeeze every bit of juice this engine has. Then I guess this would be an excellent mod to have.
I do have one question though, looking at the mrev2. Is it not just a modified lower plenum from a non revup with shaved shorter runners ?
