catalytic converter removal.

has anyone ever removed them? i removed mine because i think they were clogged the car responded waay better and sounds better however now im trying to find some replacement ones car is running really rich but i dont know if thats the cause of it? any help or imput would be appreciated.

catalytic converters being clogged can cause the car to run rich/lein

when your exhaust gets clogged up or old or even 02 sensors going bad, your ecu is going to tell your fuel system to inject more/less fuel into the cylinders. This is because your o2 sensors create a number, also known as emissions, which is % of smog over oxygen in the exhaust. When your exhaust is clogged, or opened up (use of a test pipe) you're going to get many different numbers, so your ECU tries to adjust fuel trim and injector latency to create the ideal %
