Replace Or Space?
^ I hear this ALL the time, "Keep in mind im only going to be runing 6psi so things like forged internals should not be a necessity." And the cars are still always going to the shop.
Aside from the general things need to do a NA to FI conversion are there any things spicific to VQ35DE that I would not have run into on my other FI projects I have worked on? Keep in mind im only going to be runing 6psi so things like forged internals should not be a necessity. But any little tricks you know about FI on 04 g35's 6mt would be a big help.
At 350~rwhp/tq on my revup tuned at specialtyZ, and fabbed, all for under $4000, said and done- I've put about 6k miles on since, and I have experienced no issues, and it is very quick (for my needs/wants).
HOWEVER, I got a "good deal" on a used kit, and there is not much room for improvement w/o upgrading the turbo etc. Due to the power level also, it was not necessary for me to upgrade the clutch(currently stg 1- whatever that means) or brakes ( I don't brake hard).
ALSO, I consider myself lucky, due to the fact that the setup was a gamble, and its not to say I won't ever have problems in the future.
I don't drive like I stole it, I'm only in boost about 5% of the time I drive (I would guess). Also, I always let it full warm up before giving it ANY boost.
