unless u live in a super rainy area i wouldnt worry about hydrolocking. and if it rains jus drive slowly so the intake doesnt suck alot of air into the engine. thats wat i do. i dont even rock the bypass valve anymore

Is there any advantage to NOT having the bypass valve installed? I am asking because I am going to try out a Nismo CAI.

^sounds more aggressive. in the install instructions it also mentioned something like for more performance remove the bypass or something like that. idk why but the intake is quite soft (relative). idk if its because the engine is loud and drowns out the intake sound or wat.

for some reason when the cars parked and u rev the engine you dont really hear the intake. but on the road while driving when u open it up then u can hear it growl. its weird lol ive had intakes before on other cars (4cyls) and they were all loud when revving when the cars not moving but not the g35.

anyone else notice this?

I do live in a very rainy area which is also why I wasn't too concerned about the heat soak. So I think I will have to pass on some of the others for the time being. I think I am sold on the JWT pop charger for now and will take my chance with it. I will hopefully have that ordered up today or tomorrow. I was content with the drop-in K&N decision, but glad I checked here first before the install. Thanks for all the input

I used to have a JWT pop charger. It had a whistle at WOT but thats about it, not worth the money imo.

yea alot of people say they hear this and that but i think they jus hearing the engine and exhaust lol. its not at distinct as you would think from an intake lol. u can watch tons of youtube clips of g35s with intakes. u dont really hear it when they rev in park. but you can hear it more during the drive bys

Im sorry for the confusion but yes its a stillen box. Not a shield like the JWT. JWT shield is kinda whack imho. It doesnt even cover as well as the Stillen.

If I were you and concerned about hydrolock. Go buy the JWT intake filter, Stillen airbox (to avoid heat soak), and a aluminum z-tube.
