Swapping axlebacks among HKS replicas ?

I have a HKS replica (It was either godspeed or x02) with an X pipe I installed a while back.

One of the my tips is a bit mangled and the twin mufflers have always been a tiny bit short and tucked under the car.

I was thinking of changing out that section with one from another manufacturer and was wondering if they would fit ? I would assume all the piping is the same length. Thoughts? Think there would be a difference in sound as well?

I wouldn't count on it. All these exhaust were made by different manufacturers with different blueprints and standards, I would guess that there is a spectrum of some that might bolt up fine, some that partially do and need extra work ,and some that just don't.

Or you could just swap out the tips.

Could swap the tips, they would have to be cut off and new ones welded on though. Not sure if it'd fix my clearance issues with the bumper. Also a difference in sound would always be nice. Mine is a little too loud for my taste, i'm close to going back to stock if I can find an HR Y pipe

I doubt it would change the sound since its basically the same exhaust. How bad is the clearance? The shop might be able to fix the problem when they weld the new tips on.

About 2-3 inches tucked under the diffuser. Any thoughts on a tip that I could weld on instead of these rolled ones? I love the real TI tips, not sure if a shop could weld TI to my stainless steel muffler though. The stock ones would work, but I'd hate to chop up my stock exhuast

If you can post a picture. As far as tips go, just search around for some. I believe its a 4.5" tip. If your willing to spend some money Motordyne makes some nice Ti tips.

Search around, there is a thread about people replacing their tips with motordyne ones and other brands. MD was like $100 + installation.
