Don't press down on the pedal so hard. All the other stuff you read is BS. People will likely tell you to drop excess weight such as spare tire/blahblahblah but that really isn't that significant. So either try to alter your driving style or get a different car because anything else is just a waste of time and money.
My 06 g35 gets about 22mpg and that's with me hauling *** just about everywhere and im running 93 Octane. I've had it for two months now, the day I got it I bought denso iridium powered spark plugs and one of the k&n replacement filters. See if that will help with your gas mileage
I have a 2004 g35x and only get 16.5 city and 21 hwy. I have iridium plugs, new tires and even got a $500 Uprev tune. I dont use synthetic oil but I do use 91 premium (that's all that's available). Wish I could get better gas mileage. I can't do any more with the car. Don't know what to do.

When my son worked for Magnflow, customers were constantly complained after installing their mufflers the MPG went in the toilet. Reason for poor gas mileage, we listen to our exhaust and our brain likes the sound so we naturally press the accelerator more often and harder. Turn your tunes up and stop listening to your car....get it?
