Cats
Sometimes searching the forums is your friend, other times, you come out with information overload.
04 5AT Sedan, 133k miles. Only mod is a z-tube.
Driver's side cat is on its way out... had 'em checked, definitely time (no codes yet, just a matter of time)
This is my daily, runs great other than the farty noise and performance losses due to the cat. Here's my question: What is the best bang for the buck for HFCs? This will be a bolt on to the stock exhaust, and I do plan on keeping the G for at least 2 more years. I do not want the exhaust to be overly loud, nor do I want a ton of rasp/hiss.
From what I've read on the forums:
Kinetix = First runs were crap, but the newer updated versions are ok. Just ok. Little to no rasp.
Berk = hit or miss. Could get a good set, could be junk in a year. A lot of rasp.
FI = Probably the best on the market, but most expensive too. Didn't really get a good read on the rasp.
Z1 Motorsports = no one seems to own theses? Anyone have thoughts?
Stillen = Not a whole bunch of info on these.
OEM style replacement = Not inexpensive, no rasp... but if I'm changing them, why go this route?
Thoughts?
