K&N CAI Noob needs help please, hard start

Is it possible that a K&N CAI could cause a starting issue on 2003 G35 sedan? I bought the car with the intake already installed so I have no idea if this is the issue but it seems to make sense to me. I have removed it and checked for leaks, something unplugged, found nothing obvious.

The actual symptom is that the car turns over for like 5 seconds before it fires up.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Is the filter clean? Might be worth it to clean it as well as do the battery reset, but I would doubt a cai would cause your issue

thanks for the reply. I looked up battery reset on a G35 and the consensus seems to be about 8 hours. Is that true? Also, any sensors that i need to focus on? Seems like no fuel is or at least a bad mixture for a few seconds.

I already replaced the spark plugs with NGK Iridums, based on my research here.

Sounds like either you have a fuel issue or one or both of your crankshaft position sensors is starting to go out. More than likely isn't an intake issue.

Ok, you said crankshaft position sensors? I can only see one. Do you mean camshaft position sensors? I see 2 of those.

I agree it makes sense that something like this could cause my issue. Just wondering which is more likely.

Thanks
