Y Pipe Problem
Y Pipe Problem
(Skip to the bottom if you could care less about my introduction)
Hey everyone. I recently bought a 2004 G35 coupe and couldn't be any more happy with my decision! What influenced me to buy the G35 was not only the look but the sound of the exhaust. So I pretty much wanted to make the exhaust a little bit louder and took the Z-Tube/K&N Filter drop with Rev-up Airbox route. I also bought a HR Y-Pipe and then...
The "I Hate You Gods" decided to rust the **** out of my under body so I couldn't remove my bolts. I tried soaking them in PB Blaster and WD-40 every 10 minutes but unfortunately that didn't work. So my question is, can I just cut the existing y pipe off and weld the HR Y-Pipe on? Is it even worth all the trouble because I heard it just gives the coupe a slightly deeper louder growl?

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods

Just cut off the bolts and leave the y-pipe alone. Honestly it makes a small difference in sound and performance so it's up to you what's that worth financially.
