Z tube indentification?

So I was looking into a z tube for my g and went to check what I had since I just purchased my car recently, from other pictures and videos online mine has a cover over the tube

Z tube indentification?-8cqso2k.jpg

How do I check if I have a stock z tube or if its a aftermarket piece? Im looking into a stillen one specifically

That is an oem G tube.
The Z tubes that come on the 350Zs is just a tube with no added baffles.
You can't see it until you remove the G tube but it has a baffle at the bottom that quiets the airflow.

The z-tube is on the top (says stillen but same thing)
g-tube on the bottom

Thanks alot man, do you think the z tube actually makes a difference in terms of speed? people say it makes your car a bit quicker and it should sound better as well?

To tell you the truth real gains might be 1-2 HP.
It was my 1st mod to my coupe so not sure if it was in my head but it felt a little more responsive after install.
But you do notice a little bit more of a growl.
Win/Win....It's such an inexpensive mod and cleans the engine bay up at the same time.

Don't expect any real gains.

No real gains from it, sound is maybe a bit different, but it's really hard to notice and if you ever go with an exhaust, you wouldn't be able to tell ever. It's more of a mod for a "feel good" about trying to give your car the most efficient intake possible.

No gains at all. While the baffles are large, the holes that lead to them are quite small on the inside. It's just a sound/appearance mod. But definitely a good one.

The general consensus on intakes is that only the Stillen really adds power (and by power, maybe a few HP at most). Others like the Revup airbox as it helps with responsiveness a tad. The rest are basically just for looks/sound, and some actually make you lose power.

Overall though, if you're looking for just power then don't waste your money. I went with Stillen because it adds a nice sound, adds a little power, and has a good heat shield.

Reading the stickies would really help answer your questions...

Intakes are a waste of money if you're looking for performance from them
