I think you'll be happy. I wound up ordering the Bosal Brospeed muffler, which they make for '03-'04 sedans, and got an '03-'04 muffler bracket and rubber isolators from an Infiniti dealer. I decided to go that way instead of a replacement '05-'06 muffler, because I may want a real aftermarket exhaust someday and there's a lot more options out there for the '03-'04 cars.

Anyway, I installed the Brospeed muffler, along with a lightly used '06 coupe midpipe. Here's a few pics.

If you look at this pic, you can see why you need the different bracket - notice the mounts by the tailpipes.

Here's a comparison of the OEM exhaust lined up with the coupe midpipe and Bosal muffler. Definitely saved some weight here! I had to sawzall off the front flange of the original midpipe and torched off at my local Midas. The nuts on the flange were too rusted.

Here's how it looks installed. The tips are a bit more recessed than the OEM tips, but it doesn't bother me.

Enjoy, and good luck!

Getting identical setup on my '05 G35X... what gasket is needed?

Hey Fixer,

I'm getting the exact same setup for my '05 G35X (coupe middy + bosal brospeed muffler). I'll get the 04 muffler bracket to make it fit.

My question is what gasket do I need where the middy flange meets the muffler flange... What did you use?

I'm ordering from rockauto and am not sure if it comes with the necessary gasket.

Thanks!
