Berk's HFCs suck, don't waste your $$!

I ran Berk's HFCs for a year and they were coming apart internally so I bought ART pipes with great anticipation of great results. Installed them on a Friday and drove well over 150 miles on the weekend. Noticed no improvement in WHP but the smell was flipin ridiculous! I grew up in a time where we ran 105 octane led gas and loved the smell, todays cars are different! By Monday I was on the phone to my tuner SpecialtyZ for a set of Fast Intentions HFCs. The sound was better and I didn't have that choking stench from my HKS exhaust. This all went down almost 2 years ago, still love my FI HFCs and you couldn't pay me to run ART pipes! Sorry Motordyne I run your products and love em, just not the ART pipes...Gary

This is exactly the type of info I was looking for. I love MD products, and have been loving the ARTs for the past couple years, but the gf has a really sensitive nose and she gets pissy damn near every time we're in my car because of the smell! I'm getting a set of FI RHFCs, and hopefully that'll take care of the issue.

Test pipes smell like ****. You gotta be kidding me. yeah you dont smell it if you're moving but at a stand still or when you're parked, it gives you a headache. And try driving behind a guy with test pipes at a canyon run or something, you seriously get nauseous after 10 mins.

To elaborate (and revive an old thread), it smells like a 4-stroke powersports motor (ie boat/motorcycle/atv). Personally I don't mind the smell, but it's definitely not the smell you'd expect from a 'luxury' car, or any street car for that matter.

Sounds like you're just running rich and need a tune.

6 speed G35 sedan
My car has Art Pipes and a tune, only time you really notice it is at idle after shutting off the car. Don't smell it at all while driving and I've taken several long (900-1075 miles each way) road trips since doing the Art Pipes.
