I heard from a guy that if I put a catback on it will make me run lean? Is this true btw I have a k&n typhoon series intake.
The guy who told me this has no clue even though he drives a G35 and is older cause he was telling me 03 gs made the most power which is false I think my G can take his. I'm driving the 5AT also would a plenum spacer give me power I heard its legit and one of the beat mods for our car! The catback exhaust is the Top Speed Pro1 Straight Catback Exhaust resonated.

I Drive a 2006 G Coupe

Yes I am I love my K&N intake even tho people say Ztube but I honestly don't think that's the only way for a intake gain

But yes next mod is the Spacer I have lowering springs and the catback in my room. Will my car run Lean from the cat back? N will I have to get a tune? I don't plan on getting a performance tune for a few months but this guy told me the cat back will make my car run lean. I heard that's not good it worries me. And after plenum spacer what are other good mods? For torque and Hp?

Here is a pic of my G and what I done to it

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
After installing your spacer, intake and exhaust your car will run lean and a tune will fix that. As far as other power mods all you really have left are a set of test pipes or HFC's. The only other options are pricey: build the motor or go FI.

Noob question. What does a tune typically run?

Members ^ THINK about what you're answering!

It takes more than intake, spacer and cat-back exhaust to make our G35s run lean! If you included HFCs (high flow cats) and a true dual cat back exhaust which flows better than y-back systems then...a tune w/b required. Cost for a tune is in the $500/$600 range but worth the increase in WHP!

Thanks Gary! What if I just did the spacer, rev up airbox, hfc's with hr y pipe and stock muffler? Still run lean? You know I'm already leaning towards the tune for the ponies

question! catback Problem

I recently installed with my friends the cat back I ordered but it had fit tint issues and all that we kinda fixed it and fitted it But air is escaping at certain points especially Near the cat it's as if I'm running just the catback loud but sounds good. Too loud. Any idea on how much a shop would charge to adjust and tighten it?

Take it to a shop that can bend, cut and weld exhaust and hope for the best. Then let it be a lesson learned.

plenum spacer? HELP

Before I go spend most money on one I was told that it does nothing for most Gsobly certain ones! Like I think Rev up? Or something . Not sure but I heard it works for MREV2 . I own a 2006 G35 coupe 5AT is it considered a MREV2 even tho it's not the 6MT? And if Not wouldn't I gain power and mileage any way?

Apperntky MotorDyne said this. Said a kid ON this G35 site
