Another "what's the best (cheap) exhaust" thread.

Okay so I know there's lots of threads on this already and I've searched around alot, but I figure I'll get your opinions anyway. I'm definitely not trying to spend $1000+ on an HKS exhaust or anything like that, especially when I'm really just going for sound. I don't care about performance gains at all. Plus my stock muffler broke and now it sounds like an effing prius. I was thinking about the X02 but that's apparently not a thing anymore unless I buy it used. So now i'm thinking about the M2 performance exhaust which is now Manzo exhaust. Any thoughts?
Also, I'm driving a '04 6mt coupe.

Tanabe Medalion (midpioe and muffler) is a good option for ~$850 or so.

Replace OEM muffler with quality performance muffler (same configuration) + remove resonator. Cheapest you'll get a quality exhaust.

I have the GodSpeed HKS replica with test pipes on mine and love the sound. It's a trued dual, 2.5 inch exhaust with a H-pipe, a resonator on each pipe mid-way out to 2 angled mufflers with resonators build on those. Takes a lot of the rasp out (especially since I have cat deletes) and sounds low toned and mean.

I was really leaning toward a godspeed or m2 with the magnaflow x-pipe, but after hearing the r1-t, i realized they won't do at all. Not a whole lot of people talking about it, but those that are seem to love it, with no complaints at all. I think that's what I'm going with.

Spec-D eBay crap exhaust. Had to have all the flanges cut off and welded solid. It cost around $450 for everything. It sounds pretty good though. She was warm BTW.

The cost of a new Exotic Speed RI-T is just a few more $$! ^ Why would you want someone's old cast off with lots of mileage and damage?

Thumbs up

I bought my Exotic Speed exhaust used from the classified section of this forum. I've had it for just over two years and I'm loving every complaint free mile of it. The sound is beautiful, the complements are constant, the performance is noticeable, and my grin never stops. I paid $600 for it from a member on this forum and drove 2 hours one way to pick it up myself.

I installed it myself and saved quite a bit of money in the process. I suggest you try looking in the private classifieds to see what's available, what's the asking price, is it in your budget, and most importantly DO YOU LIKE IT. Too bad you don't live in Maryland. I've got a stock exhaust off of my 05 6mt coupe with just over 25,000 miles on it in perfect condition, just sitting in my basement. When I bought my 05 6mt coupe it had just over 25,000 miles on it. I immediately swapped out the stock exhaust for my Exotic Speed And never looked back.

yea I guess. I found my exhaust basically new. Never lowered, seen rain or snow, etc. less than 2k miles. i think thats worth it. Also the tips were already adjusted for the car. I couldn't find anything else that I wanted for a descent price. ( Ark, Invidia Gemini, or TDX V2) Very happy with the invidia

How is the drone on your setup.
As much as I love my ExoticSpeed with Fast Intentions cats. I think the drone might get to me, but then it only occurs between 1800 and about 2500 rpm under load and I'm usually in this range during city driving.
