Test pipes/motor

Hi guys, recently I have put on berk test pipes with my Invidia Gemini exhaust. At fist I wasn't throwing a code but now it came on the next day, most likely due to catalytic deficiency.. Just curious as to if I should get it tuned, for one, to make the code go away and two, if deleting the cats will have any negative affect on my motor or anything of that sort if it isn't running right.

If you have all the bolt on, like ztube, plenum spacer and a full exhaust system then yes I'd go with a tune. The cel is due to the car running lean, it's not hurting the motor but it may hurt your mpg.

I have everything but the plenum spacer, I was just a little nervous deleting the cats would make me run too lean and damage my motor

Like I said it may hurt your mpg, Basically all the ecu is adding more fuel to heat the O2 sensors. You can always switch to HFCs which may or may not give enough back pressure (exhaust gases) to correct to cel, idk i myself don't have HFCs. I have test pipes but I choose to use non foul spark plugs"thingy" (I'll post a link for them) but what they do is they trick to ecu so it will not throw a code. But it does not solve the too lean problem. You'll need a actual tune for that.

Wants answers but unwilling to follow thru himself!

This is a REPOST! In fact, this is the 3rd thread about the very same subject. Guess he didn't like the answers he was getting from the other two?

You'll need four of these, two packs. You will need to drill two of them out. Just enough to where you can screw your O2 sensor into them.

The two which are not drilled out will screw into each of your test pipes.

Now you'll take the two that are drilled out which have your O2 sensor in them and screw those into the, ones on your test pipes

YouTube them and you will find a "how to" video
