Okay, so recently I have purchased an ARK grip dual exhaust for my 03 coupe. I also have Megan resonated test pipes which I had installed prior to installing this cat back system. after installing I noticed a high pitched ratlling noise, but the noise only occurs when I'm on medium to hard throttle, and also when I'm at idle and give it a rev. I drove the car for about a week like this, then when I had time to Jack the car back up and take another look I found that some of the bolts were loose. I went back and tightened all of the bolts and double checked to make sure before driving it again. While I still had the car on Jack stands I got a buddy to rev it a couple of times while I stayed under and listened. I also drove the car afterwards and it seemed like there was not much difference other than I had a lot less drone in 6th gear. From all I can tell it seems like the flex pipe portion of the y pipe of the exhaust is making the noise when there is a load on the engine and forces the pipes to torque. I know there is a way to get this noise out completely, so does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

Might be rasp, might be lose connections. Use loctite blue at a minimum on connections next time please.

Insufficient air flow can cause what sounds like a rattling sound in your exhaust from idle to 2K rpm! What kind of intake are you running? Cone filters should be placed as far down stream as possible. Only other cause for a system rattle is it's to close to a suspension part which can be found by getting your ride on a rack and inspecting pipe clearances...Gary
I've got a kinetix ssv manifold and a nismo r tune CAI. The noise is not really related to RPM, it only makes the noise on moderate to hard throttle and it will make it in any gear. It will stop if I change to light throttle or completely take my foot off the pedal. I've watched the exhaust while being underneath the car while it was being revved and there doesn't seem to be any clearance issues with anything. As far as the noise goes at idle and rev, it only makes it as the RPM's fall back to idle after the rev.

What Y-pipe do you have. The stock Y-pipe?

It's the y pipe that came with the ARK system.Originally Posted by NJ6MT

UPDATE: So I have recently found that this noise I have been hearing is in fact a noise that comes with the ARK exhaust itself. The noise had no real change when I swapped my Megan resonated test pipes to the Motordyne ART pipes. I have watched multiple videos on G35's and G37's with the ARK exhaust and I can hear the same noise I'm hearing in my car in every single one of the videos. So if anyone plans on buying the ARK exhaust, it will have a funky noise (to me) which apparently is normal.

I've had my Ark for nearly 2 years with no rattles or strange noises coming from it...

It's really more of a whistling noise.. I have found that in a parking lot I can give it a certain amount of throttle, let off of it, and it will produce a noise that sounds pretty much identical to a blow off valve when the RPM's come down. I listened to at least 10 different videos of ARK's on these cars and I could hear the same noise mine makes in every single one of them. I've thought about changing out the "y" pipe section to see if the noise changes. I can't use the factory y pipe because on the far end it is one pipe and my ARK is dual. I've looked a few places online and I haven't found a section of pipe for that area that has a dual outlet that would fit.Originally Posted by VenomGT9

Bro, I wish I had found this before I purchased the ARK GRIP CB Exhaust for my 2019 Q50 SS. In the beginning the noise wasn't present, but after only a few months it appeared. I have absolutely no doubt that it is exactly what you have. I'm so pissed man. After exploring and researching thoroughly, I have come to realize that there is shotty workmanship located within that Y pipe and although the welds and outer steel are both quality, the inside of these pipes are straight garbage. Buyer beware. Unless of course you have 2k + to waste. Originally Posted by jmathus16
