Tony mentioned running no cats until after the engine break in was finished. Makes sense. Lots of assembly lube when putting it back together.

Won't know until you do it... ART pipes are always a toss up

The only downside would be routing the wiring for your downstream sensors, I'd pull it back up into the cabin, route through the interior to the trunk, then dive down to the underside of the car. I don't know if it would affect tuning out efficiency codes (I doubt it) but maybe @seymore4 could shed some light on if there's any issues with that far of a distance between upstream and downstream sensors.
I did that with a 455 swapped '77 Cutlass. Lived in Arizona at the time and they'd decided if you failed a tailpipe test, even if just adjusting the carburetor would correct the issue, if you didn't have cats, you'd have to get them too. So put them where the mufflers were. The guy at the shop who did the work said to make sure to drive the car around and then leave it running while waiting for the inspection to make sure the cats were hot enough to do their job (that's why OEM cats are close to the engine) and I'd pass. Which I did. But there wasn't an O2 sensor issue with cars from the 70s.

ART pipes don’t tend to throw codes, so I am hoping I will be okay.

I’ll run without them during the break in period and then install after the break in is done.
