Hello, so i just bought a G that has a muffler delete system. It sounded great outside but the drone inside was a lot louder than i expected. It doesnt bother me too much because it can be quiet when i just tap the gas but i can see how it would get annoying on long drives. I was wondering if installing a magnaflow X Pipe will help reduce the drone? I heard too many mix reviews that some say it will reduce and some say it will make it louder? or is my only option to get a new muffler? Thanks. Also, if a resonated x pipe will help me, can someone point me to the right part number? im not sure i need 11385 or 11386. Thanks.

Current set up of exhaust: still have stock resonator > Y- Pipe > out to OEM tips

 

Best advice in your situation, go on line and order a Magnaflow replacement muffler and have it installed! It will sound good and be just a wee bit louder than the OE exhaust. The xpipe is not a fix all, only effective if you have a cat-back system! (no y-pipe)

do you know which magnaflow muffler to get? there are like 50 different types lol

 

No there' hundreds of mufflers but you just need a G35 coupe first generation replacement muffler. If you can't locate one online use their phone number, they'll give you the price and order it for you! Good Luck, you'll enjoy the new mellow tone of your exhaust...Gary
