If you were the White House Press Secretary, then I probably would =) Neff has close ties with Doug and Crawford. Why would we not believe him?

shetyamout,

1. Neff is a veteran and a respected member on this board in addition to being a mod and a member of the Florida G35 club
2. Knowing #1 to be true, why would he come and make up a story that Doug, or the Crawford guyz were asking him NOT to back down?? I am going to give Neff credit to say that he isnt a liar or making up BS IF thats what you are implying. He has too much to lose in the event he DOES post a lie and someone discovers the truth.
3. Not to mention Doug himself came on this exact thread and NEVER denied having told Neffster NOT to back down, therefore supporting the belief that Neffster was simply acting as the messenger, and we all know what happens to the messengers...

I am surprised this thread is still alive and I wanted to take this time to apologize to Neff for the harsh remarks/comments made on my part. I could care less what people buy (motordyne, crawford, kinetix) as its none of my business nor anyone elses. However, I am guilty of having little patience for people who are not open to knew ideas and/or are quick to bash products/beliefs/ideas without ever questioning their own products/beliefs/ideas. IMO either be skeptical of ALL, NOT just skeptical or doubt things different from what you believe or have experimented with. Throughout history people naturally dont like change...look what happened to Galileo when he stated the earth is NOT the center of the universe!!

we all need to get back to whats important. we are ALL G lovers (except for the occassional haters who pop up in the coupe forums asking why we put skyline badges on ) either coupe or sedan and visit g35driver.com to improve our experiences with our cars (whether performance, looks, luxury etc). Lets get back to whats important which is our cars and modding!!

Talking My "Flow Testing"

Harridan here......

I did some high tech "flow testing" today up on the mountain roads in N GA.

My flow seemed balanced to my engines satisfaction and I had a blast!

I almost had some data to publish.....but he was nice enough to give me a warning to just slow down a little bit....

All you guys have a Great Easter weekend!

Proud member of the Crawford Crone Klan checking back in at the request of a few buddies.

Several things... Doug did ask me to "not back down". I believe his interests (after I got involved) were to see if/how Tony managed to BALANCE THE AIR FLOW using the same approach that Doug was previously unsuccessful with. As it turned out, both Doug and Tony (kind of extrapolating from the info that Tony PM'd me with) came out with very similar results using the plenum spacer approach. Doug was looking for the "perfect solution" to give him a ZERO PRESSURE DROP with cost as a secondary factor and Tony was looking for a "good performing mod" with cost as a driving factor (I think it's safe to say that he clearly wanted to make his price point cheaper than Crawford, not that this is a bad thing at all). It's simply just two different approaches, albeit rather close when you consider the performance/dollar ratios.

One thing people seemed to miss is the fact that there have been tons of MD Plenum Spacer posts and, for the most part, I've just sat back and read (and tired to learn). I've talked with Doug on several occasions and learned the differences between the new plenum and the spacer and never saw a reason to post in the spacer threads. WHY? Because it's a good product, seemingly well designed, and people have been happy with it. ALSO, according to what Doug has told me, up until this post there was no MISINFORMATION (whether intentionally or not) expressed or implied about the MD Plenum Spacer. When I saw someone make a distinguishing comment that elevated the "air flow characteristics" of the MD Plenum Spacer to the same level as the Crawford Plenum (we now know this was not done intentionally) I got involved and I thought tried to point out this mistake, error or whatever you want to call it. In doing so, we went the long, ugly way around a circle. We started with a statement, had a heated debate and finally found the answer.

Just so you'll hear it again, Doug never asked me to be nasty with people. In fact he told me to "stick to the facts" and "don't get involved with the personal stuff". He also said "don't back down because we have the data if I can ever get the damn company to send it over to us. You can even post it if you want." He also never called me and said... "Todd, post this in response to this thread..." I made my own posts on my own, based on the information I have been able to gather over the last year or so. Turns out the info I had was correct and the people I offended have all received apologies (either a blanket apology posted here, or a PM with an apology enclosed). Only person since the apology who may not have accepted it is Copbait. Can't really tell after his last post, but I have no ill feelings toward him. Stinkin' Harridan...

FYI, after paying a good amount of cash for a slightly used set of CRAWFORD HEADERS and CRAWFORD CATS, and after giving a good friend my RT Cats for FREE, I took the old G out for a spin. I'm a huge believer in the CRAWFORD product line. More so now than ever before. I don't care if Doug closes shop tomorrow and never sponsors the club again, his products are simply amazing and I'll continue to tell others this as well.

If you go to my350z.com you'll see "Crawford Crones" from all over the US. It's not just a group of guys from Tennessee who have touted Doug's products as some would have you believe. Just 2 days ago, I got a PM from a guy here in Florida, Chris, who has the "Crawford Total Package" on his 350Z and he saw that I was getting these mods. He informed me that I was going to be AMAZED with the transformation my G went through after the modifications were installed. Well folks, he was right.

Doug, BTW (If you're still reading this)... I think you should provide a large shoe horn with the headers as there is NO CLEARANCE for anything, anywhere in the engine bay now.

Oh yeah, one last thing... For those of you who want to send "Certified Letters" to Doug and complain, blah, blah, blah, go ahead. Odds are your letter will be used as a coaster to hold a cold can of Miller Lite.

And this is for the next person who just can't let it go...

As I said in my last post I decided against using Crawford products back during the "$29 Crawford Spacer" thread in which I thought they were very unprofessional, and I still stand by that. They made a mockery out of well respected people that were working hard on product designs and looking for potential customers. That is unacceptable to me. I was also personally attacked via PMs by a Crawford employee which I thought was amusing at the time but only strengthened my feelings on what kind of people they really are.

I have no ill feelings towards ya bro, but I was disappointed to see you get caught up in all this, and obviously Doug was not concerned one bit with your reputation on this forum otherwise he would not have kept pushing. Yet one more example of how they do business.

Anyway, I am also very happy with my plenum spacer which I bought for not much cash and feel performs to at least 90% of what a plenum upper replacement would do. The dynos have backed that up. I thnk those are the only significant facts in this case.

In my honest opinion, and no pun intended, it is not rocket science to bend some header pipes, or weld pipes onto someone else's cat, or make a plenum look like a squarish cake mold. Also based on "if I can ever get the damn company to send it over to us" it sounds like they did not even do their own flow testing, which does not suprise me at all. I really don't see what all the fuss is about with Crawford, but hey man please do enjoy yours

Wow, that took me forever and a day to get through this thread. I was hoping to find more numbers. Like how many gains to expect with a new plenum? 1/4"? 3/8"? 1/2"? I guess no matter what they are both good, one is cheaper.

Does this affect warranty? If not 1/2" is what I want.

Maybe I'll skip it all together. I want the Gordgee's Grounding Gear, but am worried about installation. I have limited tools and would not have a clue.

After reading many posts. My jist on things is that the best mods/bang for buck and no warranty issues are......................

MD Plenum Spacer or Crawford Plenum (bout the same, not sure on warranty)
Exhaust.
Grounding Gear.
Z Tube and K & N filter.
